Storage and data retention
Understand what is requested, recorded and retained.
Boot disk requests
Set disk capacity in the deployment form. The Storage page lists recorded volumes and their associated instances, status, capacity and confirmed customer price when present. A requested volume is not yet provisioned storage.
Inspect your records
Search by instance or volume details and filter by status. Open the detail view for the volume ID and linked instance. Standalone creation, attachment, detachment and multi-instance shared volumes are not currently self-service features.
Before stopping or ending service
Confirm which disks are retained and which are deleted, including any separate storage fees. Keep a tested backup outside the instance lifecycle. Do not assume that stopping compute preserves every local disk.
